| Our optomap® retinal imagery exam allows us see an ultra-widefield view of the retina to detect common diseases such as glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, and even cancer. The exam is quick, painless, and may not require dilation drops. Our professionals also utilize the Humprey Visual Field to identify problems associated with the eye, optic nerve and brain. Pachymetry, or the measurement of the corneal thickness with ultrasound, is an essential procedure prior to having laser vision correction surgery and is key in early detection of glaucoma. |

| In 2011, our practice incorporated Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) into patient procedures. While fullfilling a 2014 federal mandate, it also supports us in maintaining complete and precise eyecare records. Working in tandem with our technologically advanced examination equipment, EMR allows us to provide the best quality eyecare possible from the moment you contact us, all the way through your treatment with our professionals. | |||

The Learning Center |
Having perfect distance and near vision doesn't necessarily mean that both eyes are working together as they should.
Vision is the ability to take information from the eyes and process that information so that it has meaning
(comprehension within a given context). For example, while 20/20 eyesight demonstrates that an individual
can see certain sized letters at a range of 20 feet, it does not prove whether or not that individual is
seeing double while reading at that distance, can successfully follow the letters while their eyes are moving,
or suffer from eye fatigue through long periods of near work (homework, reading, computer work).Bourn Vision and Learning Center is one of the few practices in the United States that offers both vision and occupational therapy. We treat the eyes as a part of the whole mind-body connection and offer therapy to improve that interaction: |
